Man, 31, Acquitted of Rape Attempt
By Laurie Mason, Courier Times
A Bucks County jury deliberated for less than two hours Friday before finding a Bensalem man not guilty of attempted rape and other sex charges.
Michael Milgram, 31, of Bristol Road, was standing trial last week in Doylestown for attempted rape, indecent assault, and simple assault. A jury of six men and six women found him not guilty of all charges.
“It was a classic case of he said, she said.”
Milgram was accused of attacking a female acquaintance at his apartment on Sept. 19. Assistant District Attorney Lisa Woodward said the alleged victim claimed Milgram ripped off her shirt and bit her when she tried to fend off his sexual advances. She fled the apartment half-naked and called police. Milgram denied the charges.
He took the stand last week and said the woman gave mixed signals. He claimed she was lying on her back, playfully holding his head to her chest. Milgram told the jury, “She gave me a signal and I stopped. She kissed me goodbye when she was leaving. We were never involved during the alleged assault.”
Assistant District Attorney Lisa Woodward declined to comment after the verdict.
