Girlfriend Not Guilty of Assault

A Bucks County jury in Doylestown on Thursday found a Bensalem woman not guilty of stabbing her boyfriend with a steak knife during a domestic dispute. Gina DiLegidio, 28, was acquitted of charges of aggravated and simple assault. Her attorney, Louis Busico, said the jury made the right decision.
"After reviewing all the evidence, it was clear that Ms. DiLegidio acted in self-defense," Busico said. DiLegidio testified that she used the knife to protect herself during an argument at their home.
Man Who Stashed Drugs at Parx Gets Probation After Guilty Plea

A Philadelphia man who admitted hiding drugs in a Parx Casino parking lot was sentenced to 12 months of probation after pleading guilty. Judge Wallace Bateman in Doylestown sentenced Mario Vanzetti, 32, for possessing controlled substances. Vanzetti’s attorney, Louis Busico, highlighted his client's efforts in recovery.
"He has made significant progress in his battle against addiction," Busico said. Vanzetti pled guilty to hiding heroin and plastic bags containing drugs. He has since committed to sobriety and is on the road to recovery.
Most Charges Dropped in Wiffle Bat Assault Case

In the case of New Hope businessman Jay Colton, the majority of charges were dropped, and a plea deal was reached regarding an incident where Colton was accused of hitting his daughter with a Wiffle bat. His attorney, Louis Busico, expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
"Mr. Colton is relieved that the case has been resolved in a manner that acknowledges his efforts to improve his relationship with his daughter," Busico said. Colton agreed to undergo anger management counseling and was pleased with the resolution.
Man Surrenders in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A Bristol Township man surrendered to police and was charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian. Jonathan Simmons, 27, turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest. His attorney, Louis Busico, said Simmons wanted to take responsibility for his actions.
"Mr. Simmons deeply regrets the incident and is fully cooperating with authorities," Busico said. Simmons is accused of leaving the scene after hitting a pedestrian on New Falls Road. He faces charges of vehicular homicide and related offenses.
Parents Turned in by Son for Alleged Pot Growing Waive Hearings

Two Doylestown Township parents, Cynthia Shanfeld and Robert Medveck, waived their preliminary hearings after being charged with growing marijuana. The charges were filed after their teenage son turned them in, leading to the discovery of 10 marijuana plants in their basement.
Attorney Louis Busico, representing Medveck, noted that the parents are cooperating fully with the investigation. "They are committed to resolving this matter in a manner that is best for their family," Busico said. The case has been moved to county court for further proceedings.
