Perkasie Man Acquitted of Sexual Assault
By Laurie Mason, Staff Writer
DOYLESTOWN - A Bucks County judge has acquitted a Perkasie man of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. John Reiff, 41, had been accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl in his home in 1992. Reiff maintained that the incident never happened. Senior Deputy District Attorney Terry Houck argued that the victim's testimony and evidence were sufficient to convict Reiff. However, Reiff's attorney, Louis Busico, successfully convinced the court that there was reasonable doubt. "He didn't do it," Busico said after the verdict. "We are very pleased with the judge's decision."

Defense: Accused Stalker Was Suicidal
By Laurie Mason, Courier Times
Depression caused by a "whacked-out relationship" led a man to hide inside his ex-girlfriend's SUV, his lawyer says. He denied, however, that the alleged stalker had a gun. During the trial, the accused man's defense attorney, Louis Busico, portrayed him as a troubled individual who was struggling with depression. The prosecution argued that the man had intended to harm his ex-girlfriend. Busico countered that his client had no intention of causing harm and was instead trying to cope with the emotional turmoil of the breakup. The jury ultimately acquitted the man of all charges, accepting Busico's argument that his actions were driven by emotional distress rather than criminal intent.

Husband Not Guilty of Raping Wife
By Laurie Mason, Courier Times
WARWICK - The jury didn't buy a Warwick wife's claim that her husband forced her to have sex. The husband was found not guilty of raping his wife. The husband, defended by Louis Busico, maintained that the sexual encounter was consensual. Busico argued that the wife's allegations were fabricated and motivated by a desire to gain an advantage in the couple's ongoing divorce proceedings. The jury deliberated for several hours before returning a verdict of not guilty, siding with Busico's defense.
