By Laurie Mason Schroeder
NEW HOPE - Michael Montalvo was fired over a "sexting" allegation.
A former Bucks County police officer was placed in a program for first-time offenders on Wednesday after being charged with corruption of minors for sending sexually explicit text messages to a teenage girl.
Michael Montalvo, 29, was accepted into Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD), which allows first-time offenders to avoid a criminal record if they complete probation.
Montalvo was arrested in January after police discovered he had sent explicit text messages to a 16-year-old girl he met while working as a school resource officer.
Louis Busico, Montalvo’s attorney, said his client made a mistake but has taken responsibility for his actions. “He has accepted full responsibility and is eager to move forward with his life,” Busico said.
